A one-to-one mentorship  ·  Conway, South Carolina

Your story isn't finished.
It's just getting interesting.

A guided year for people in midlife and beyond — those who feel something calling, and those who simply feel stuck — ready to understand where they are and step into who they are meant to be.

Begin the Conversation
"You have lived a full, complicated life. And somewhere in the middle of all of it — the building, the caregiving, the becoming what others needed — you set a part of yourself aside. Perhaps the creative part. Perhaps the part that never quite found its form. Perhaps you can't name the part at all — only the absence of it."

— Mythic Mentor

What this is

Not a course.
Not a workshop.
A journey.

Mythic Mentor is a one-to-one, in-person mentorship for people in midlife and beyond — those who have set aside something essential and are ready to reclaim it. It draws on archetypal psychology, the hero's and heroine's journey, and the particular wisdom that accumulates in a person who has lived a full life and knows they are not finished yet.

You do not need to already call yourself creative to belong here. You need only to feel something stirring — a hunger for expression, for meaning, for a life that finally reflects who you most essentially are. Whether you have been making things for decades or have simply sensed a creative life calling to you that has never yet found its form, this work is designed to meet you exactly where you are.

And if nothing is stirring at all — if what you feel is closer to flat, stuck, or hollow — you belong here too. Sometimes the work begins not with a calling but with a weight: a life that no longer fits, a self you no longer recognize, a persistent sense that something important has gone missing and you cannot name what it is. The mythic framework does not require you to arrive inspired. It only asks that you arrive honestly. It will do the rest of the work of naming what you are carrying — and showing you the way through it.

This is not therapy. It is something older and in some ways more direct: a structured, guided process for making sense of where you are, who you have been, and what your life is asking of you next.

This work is serious. It will ask things of you. And it will return things to you that you may have forgotten you had.

The Structure

One year. Two phases.
Your story.

The program unfolds over twelve months, meeting twice monthly for ninety-minute sessions. Between each session, structured creative and reflective practices deepen the work in the days that matter most — the ones between our conversations.

Phase One · Six Months

The Descent

Excavation, Archetypal Discovery & Creative Reawakening

The first phase is an inward journey. We begin with your archetypal discovery — identifying the mythic figure that most closely reflects your particular way of moving through the world.

From there, we go into your story: the myth you have been living, the creative self you set aside, the grief you have been carrying, and the unlived life that has been signaling its readiness to emerge.

  • Archetypal discovery and mythic identity work
  • Story excavation and narrative rewriting
  • Shadow work and creative reclamation
  • Relational mapping and renegotiation
  • Grief work and the composting of experience
  • Threshold ceremony at completion

Phase Two · Six Months

The Return

Embodiment, Voice, Legacy & Purposeful Creation

The second phase turns outward. The excavation is complete. Now we build. Your creative practice deepens and takes on deliberate form. Your voice gains authority. Your legacy intention becomes concrete.

You design a creative project or contribution that is genuinely, unmistakably yours — and you begin to bring it into the world with the full weight of everything you have learned about yourself.

  • Visioning and creative architecture
  • Creative practice design and discipline
  • Voice development and expressive authority
  • Sharing work and navigating vulnerability
  • Legacy definition and contribution design
  • Return ceremony and advanced work option

Your Mentor

I am not a bystander
to this work.

I am a woman in my late sixties. I am an artist. I have been a counselor, an advocate, a teacher, a mother, and a person navigating the particular kind of freedom and uncertainty that comes when the roles that defined you for decades begin to shift.

I have done this descent myself. I know what it costs and what it returns. The creative hunger that arrives in this stage of life — the sense that something essential is demanding expression before there is no more time — is not a crisis. It is a calling. And it deserves to be met with the same seriousness you would bring to anything that matters.

I created Mythic Mentor because I could not find the kind of companionship I needed for my own transition — something that honored both the psychological complexity of this stage and the creative hunger that comes with it. Something that spoke to people as whole, intelligent, and capable human beings at a genuine threshold. Whether you have spent a lifetime making things, or whether creativity has been waiting quietly on the shelf, or whether you simply feel stuck in a life that no longer fits and cannot yet say why — there is a place for you here.

I have navigated this terrain. I know where the ground holds and where it doesn't. And I would be honored to walk into it with you.

Discover Your Archetype

Before the journey,
there is the map.

Every person who walks into Mythic Mentor carries a mythic identity they may never have named. It shapes the choices they make, the losses that mark them, the hunger they can't quite explain. The Mythic Mentor Archetype Quiz is where the work begins — a reflective ten-question journey through six of the world's oldest mythological traditions that reveals the archetypal figure living most powerfully in you right now.

"You are not starting from scratch.
You are starting from a story
that has been yours all along."

The quiz takes 8–10 minutes. There are no right answers — only honest ones. When you finish, you will have a name for the force that has been shaping your life, and a language for what this next chapter might be asking of you. That name is where our conversation begins.

The quiz is the first step.
The conversation is the second.

Once you know your archetype, you have something real to bring into the room. Many people find that the quiz crystallizes something they have sensed for years but never had words for. That clarity is the beginning of the work — and Sharon would love to hear what it revealed.

What Clients Say

The work, in their
own words.

"I didn't come to Sharon because I wanted to be creative. I came because I couldn't remember who I was anymore. Somewhere between raising children, building a career, and keeping everything running, I had completely disappeared. The archetype work gave me back a language for myself — one I didn't know I had been missing. I left each session feeling more real than when I arrived."

M.L.  ·  Conway, South Carolina

"I had painted for thirty years and then simply stopped. I told myself I was too busy, too tired, too far past the point where it mattered. Sharon helped me see that I hadn't lost the creative impulse — I had buried it under a story I no longer needed to keep telling. Within three months I was back in the studio. Within six, I had work I was genuinely proud of again."

R.T.  ·  Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

"I retired after forty years in education and fell into a flatness I couldn't name and couldn't shake. My doctor called it adjustment. My family called it transition. Sharon called it a threshold — and gave me a map for what was actually happening. That reframe changed everything. This is not therapy. It is something more precise and, for me, more useful. I now understand the story I was living and I am writing a different one."
